For the past 5 years, I’ve been replacing rotting boards, making temporary repairs, and basically doing whatever I could to get this deck through one more season. But this year, I decided it was finally time to stop patching it and build the modern outdoor space I’ve been dreaming about. We removed the old, rotting wood deck boards, replaced them with composite decking, and completely transformed the space with @Viewrail's Exterior Coastal Onyx Rod railing system. I really wanted the new deck to feel modern and open, and these sleek black metal rods made SUCH a difference. Even better, I didn’t have to hire a professional to install them. Viewrail provided everything I needed for the DIY installation. From diagrams and instructions to the hardware, we were able to get that professional looking finish ourselves! After 5 years of temporary fixes, this deck FINALLY feels like the outdoor space I always knew it could be.
