Come along with us for a complete tour of the incredible Brevard Zoo — one of Florida’s highest-rated zoos! This was our first visit and wow… it absolutely lived up to the hype. The exhibits are designed so you can get unbelievably close to the animals, making the entire experience feel interactive and immersive. One of our favorite parts was the AMAZING kangaroo exhibit. Seriously one of the best we’ve ever seen! Being able to walk through and get so close to the kangaroos was unforgettable. The monkeys were also incredible to watch and full of personality. Every area of the zoo felt well thought out, clean, and fun to explore. The staff members were super friendly and helped make the day even better. What really makes Brevard Zoo unique are the extra experiences you can do here. You can kayak right next to animal habitats and even take a train ride around parts of the zoo for a different view of everything. It made the visit feel way more adventurous than a typical zoo trip. We will try that next time! The only thing missing for us was elephants, but honestly there was still so much to see and do that we had an amazing time from start to finish. We spent Cinco de Mayo at Fiesta Grande in downtown Mount Dora to eat some delicious Mexican food! From their daily deals to their full menu, we show you the full restaurant experience so you k ow what to expect before you go. The good news is, we got seated right away as this restaurant in Mount Dora got super busy! They offer outdoor patio seating, indoor seating, and bar seating. As far as the menu, there isn’t a ton of items but there is just enough to make you want several entrees. In this restaurant review, we show you their 2 in 1 margarita specials, their taco specials -both hard shell ground beef, and street taco with chicken, the tamale and rice, and the taco salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals! We also show you their famous salsa and we had to pair it with their delicious queso dip which is a must! We decided to get dessert and chose the chimi cheesecake with both chocolate and caramel sauces. It’s came with ice cream and thought it was the perfect size! Overall, we had a great time at this Mexican restaurant in downtown Mount Dora. The Cinco de Mayo specials were good and our waitress was great! The Mount Dora Taste featured multiple restaurants that we got to try, and it has turned into one of our favorite events! We got to be judges at the 25th annual Mount Dora Taste Event, and it was amazing! There were essentially 25 restaurants you got to try and wow, was there some amazing food. There are people's choice and media choice awards. The Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce held the event and there was a great turnout. Over 700 people showed up to sample all the delicious food and drinks in downtown Mount Dora. This was such a cool event to be able to try things that you may not normally try. We are grateful that they invited us out and a lot of these restaurants, we have full reviews on. We tried every food booth tent and stayed and listened to some great live music. Overall, this was a fantastic foodie event and we are so thankful to be a part of it! This is a free event and there is always a lot going on here. They have a ton of food trucks, tents, and everything else where you gut buy good, drinks, shirts, and a whole bunch of blueberry items. As an added bonus, we also got a free tree at the Arbor Day Celebration they had in downtown. We walk around the whole Blueberry Festival and show you what there is. We did get some really delicious and fresh drinks! One was a coconut based drink and the other was a blueberry lemonade drink. If you come early, you can get blueberry pancakes. If you came later, you can see the pie eating contest. There is also a petting zoo! Regardless, there is something for kids and adults! Each entree is about $2.50 off so you do get to save some money. The early dine in specials start at 3 pm and end at 5 pm so you have a small window to get in and get it! However, at this time, there really isn’t a wait which makes it nice. We have shown multiple videos of Texas Roadhouse so this isn’t exactly a full tour but we get to show you what the early dine menu is and we also try a few different entrees. We also got the waters and rolls included, which their rolls are top! The only thing we did add to it was the loaded sweet potatoes which added $3 total to the bill but either way, eating at Texas Roadhouse for $30 isn’t bad at all! If you love nature and outdoors, this is for you! Big Tree Park features huge cypress trees. In fact, they have two of the largest and oldest bald cypress trees in the USA. As you start your journey, there is a tree called the Phoenix. This is a clone tree of the Senator. It’s really cool to see! As you go to the boardwalk, you get a walking journey into the growth of the oldest and largest cypress tree called the Senator. The sad thing is, the tree has been destroyed. It got destroyed by a hurricane and then someone set it on fire later on. However, just down from there is a very large sister tree called Lady Liberty. This one is also very large and massive but it is not as big as the Senator was so you can use your imagination on how big it actually was. We also do a snake and some wildlife. It’s a pretty breathtaking adventure to be out in nature will all the greenery and beautiful trees. It’s also nice because it’s not a hard walk and it doesn’t take all day. It’s a peaceful spot! Florida has many amazing hidden gems. We live in a great state that allows us to be out in nature, seeing historic things, fun roadside attractions, and God’s great creations! Tony’s Chowder House is a must-try! This place is known for their clam chowder and in our opinion, it is tied for the best ever. We can see why they have won awards! It is stinkin’ good! The restaurant has some weird hours but on Saturdays, they are open longer. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We got seated right away and we love how the inside is decorated. It’s like an old mariner theme. You can buy the chowder to go as well! The menu has lots of great food options. We were here for lunch and decided to try a few things. Of course we had to split the bowl of the stinkin’ good clam chowder. Next, we show the salad with crab cakes, which was good, and also their special with was the Seafood Medley Roll and for the side we got potato salad, which was stinkin’ good potato salad! Our waiter was awesome as we have had him before. We also had a lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. It was tough to choose a dessert but we went with Raspberry Lemon Drop cake and it was stinkin’ good. We went to a Brazilian grocery store. Tember’s Channel: https://youtube.com/@thetemlife?si=VimYOxN7ZiGB47uI In today's video, we wanted to continue our playlist of grocery stores and markets around Florida so this time we found Rokka’s Market which is located in Windermere. They also have another location in Dr. Phillips. We have never been to one but we wanted to see what it is like. They have good reviews and it’s also nice and welcoming inside. The cool thing about this Brazilian market is that it isn’t very big so it’s easy to navigate and check out everything that they have to offer. Items ranch from chilled, frozen, meats, bakery, and dairy and everything is clearly labeled. Their bakery section had a bunch of items and that and their meat section were some of the more popular sections. The staff was friendly and it was great to walk around and check out all the Brazilian market offerings available. We don’t know much about Brazil or the food, so we just gave a tour of the whole place and are hoping we get some good, helpful comments on what are the best Brazilian items. Before we left, we show the restaurant menu and although it was closed, it has some great offerings as well as looks very nice. We will have to try the Brazilian restaurant sometime. We tried a couple of items we bought in the store which were Jackfruit chips and some sort of condensed milk cookie. They were good. Overall, this was a good marker and grocery store to check out and they also had a With God All Things Are Possible verse on the wall! Definitely give Rokka’s Market a walk through! This restaurant has been popping up all over the place. It’s all about healthy eating and organic, fresh food. Just Salad has more than just salad, including smoothies, bowls, wraps, and more. Plus you can purchase a bowl and bring it back for some perks. Inside, you order at the counter and they make your food for you and pay at the end of the counter. There was a lot to choose from but we decided to do the pick 2 which featured several options but we went with the salad and smoothie combo. For one, we got the Mezze Crunch and the Pineapple Paradise smoothie. For the other, we got the Earth Bowl and the PB Protein smoothie. For a medium salad, these salads were huge! Both were fantastic and you could really tell how fresh and healthy they were. It will all just depend on your preference as the Earth Bowl was heavier than the Mezze Bowl but again, both were great! Both smoothies were good and that will just depend on what your preference is. We also got a cookie for dessert and overall, it wasn’t that expensive for all you get. A lot of people don’t realize that IKEA has a restaurant in it and that is also serves some really delicious and cheap food. IKEA is famous for their Swedish meatballs which are so good. We show you how to get to the restaurant and how it all works. It is like a cafeteria where you grab a tray and get your food. You can pick up salads, desserts, soups, and then you order your entree and the wonderful staff serves it up for you. There is actually quite a bit to choose from including the meatballs, salmon, mac and cheese, chicken, and more. We went with a winter mix salad, chocolate cake which is so good, the 16 count of meatballs that is served with peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, and lingonberry sauce, and we also got a drink. Their drinks are good and we mix lingonberry with pear. Overall, for us both to eat and be full, it was $23. What a cheap meal! Once you are finished, you put your trays up and then you can go through the store or exit. We enjoy the Swedish meatballs and the IKEA restaurant. We tried Yak and Yeti’s new menu! Yak and Yeti restaurant is owned by Landry’s and it is located in Asia in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. We enjoy this spot and it’s about our favorite restaurant at this park. We filmed a video about 3 years ago so it was time for an upgrade! We show you how we get there through the park. We had a reservation, which we would recommend you getting. The restaurant is pretty large as there is an upstairs and a downstairs. We ended up going upstairs. The new menu has several items we have never tried. For drinks, we got the desert pear refresher and Desert pear lemonade and both were good. The appetizer was a new item and it was the crab rangoon dip. It was pretty good but very expensive and more on the just crab dip side. We shared the sweet and sour chicken and it came with vegetables and we chose jasmine rice. It was good and we were glad we shared. When you want to try a little bit of everything, sharing is the way to go. For dessert, we normally get their fried wontons but we decided to try their new warm butter cake and it was stinkin’ good. Well worth getting and we hope that they keep it around. Our waitress was very helpful and great and we had a great time! You get a small annual passholder discount off and entree. It’s 10 percent. We went to the Miami Open! Tember’s Channel: https://youtube.com/@thetemlife?si=VimYOxN7ZiGB47uI In today's video, it is our first time ever at the Miami Open tennis tournament in Miami. We love watching tennis and have never been to a professional tennis match like this. We decided to buy tickets and we actually bought stadium tickets Section 148, Row 25, Seats 1-4. We also bought yellow parking but parking was a complete disaster and it was very difficult to park. However, once we got parked we walked to the entrance and it was really easy to scan your ticket. With a stadium ticket, we were session 8 which means that we could enter the stadium at 7 and enter the grounds at 5 and usually the evening session means you can see high ranked players. Also the stadium tickets gets you in to the other courts to watch. We got to see Matteo Berrettini vs Alexander Bublik on one of the courts. Ww got to see Aryna Sabalenka warm up. Then we got to see Carlos Alcaraz play Joao Fonseca in the stadium followed by Elena Rybakina vs Yulia Putintseva. During the day, the grounds offers food, very expensive food, and we got some hotdogs, hamburger, pizza slices, drinks, and chips for over $100. There are several shops to look in including Lacoste and Miami Open Shop and there are several free samples and other little pop up places you can explore. There is even a Skyliner. It all was a little confusing at first but seeing all the number one tennis men’s and women’s players was totally worth it! We really enjoyed our time at the Miami Open and can see ourselves coming back again in the future. Here they have a restaurant on the water called Monty’s Raw Bar. It’s next to the yacht club and the marina. Parking costs but you can get it validated at the restaurant. The restaurant is located outside but it’s all covered which is nice. We sat by the water and by the big yachts. The menu has a lot of drink options and food options. We show you a Miami Vice since we are in Miami! As far as food goes, we got the fried calamari, the Mahi sandwich, the poke bowl, the Latin Chopped salad, and the huge seafood salad sandwich. All the food was good and typical for a restaurant like this. It was nice to sit next to the water! Again, nothing super special with the food but just an average spot with a nice atmosphere. We wanted to try some key lime pie and we thought it was good! Not super tart. We have noticed that Miami has some good water so we were grateful for that. We have heard that this estate is absolutely beautiful and is worth checking out. Tickets right now are discounted due to the work that is being done and unfortunately and fortunately, there is quite a bit of work being done. The estate is huge and was used as a winter home. The grounds and gardens are also huge and your ticket lets you explore all of it. The estate is situated on water and has amazing views. The garden make you feel like you are in another country while the estate looks like something European! Again, several things are getting worked on so it was a bummer not being able to see it all. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed our time. We tried to make it over to the village to see that but it was closed. Overall, this is a very beautiful estate. It will be really nice when they get it completed. We will have to go back when they do but in the meantime, you can still see some very pretty architecture and gardens! It’s a cute little spot in their downtown area. Inside, they have a ton of scriptures and “Do everything in love” written all over the place. They offer both breakfast and lunch and we decided on breakfast. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was good. We decided to try the eggs and bacon, the pancake, bacon and eggs, the avocado and sausage, and the oatmeal with fruit. All was good! The pancakes were just normal pancakes but the sausage was great! For drinks, this place had good water and also great specialty drinks, which is what they are known for. We tried a huge cup of coffee, the rose vanilla latte, stinkin’ good, and the hot vanilla matcha latte, stinkin’ good. Overall, it was a little pricey but you could tell everything was more homemade and honestly probably the best restaurant oatmeal we have tried! Thank you for this suggestion! There are a lot of these restaurants around the area but we have never been. This one is located right in the Miami Design District and this area is very high end. Lots of name brand stores and every exotic car you can think of!! However, this place is nice because it is more casual and it’s an order at the counter restaurant that features breakfast, lunch, and pastries. We show you the full menu and show you the inside seating area and also the outside seating area. Outside was fun to sit at because you could see all the cars drive by. We tried several different things including the breakfast sandwich, the falafel bowl, the chicken wrap, the Caesar wrap, and the poppyseed orange loaf. All of it was super good, healthy, but expensive! We also got summer peach tea, kombucha, and hibiscus cooler tea. Overall, this is one of the cheaper options for food in the Miami Design District and it also is nice that there is no dress code. This is a South Florida chain so we have never been to one. The style of these restaurants is pretty neat. They have pictures everywhere and it’s a fun and laid back restaurant. This place is known for their award winning, legendary Baby Back Ribs. So, it was only fitting to definitely try those. We had a little bit of a wait but it wasn’t bad at all for as busy as it was. The restaurant is massive and they have a huge bar. The menus are very big with so many options to choose from. We did try some of the ribs as well as their stinkin’ good cole slaw, baked potatoes, the pasta Caesar salad, and the bbq chicken. All was really good and this was a good spot to go to. For dessert, we tried the Jimmy’s Sweet Stack which was ice cream and cookie and it was great! Overall, staff was good and we enjoyed this restaurant. Found some great food at the Flower and Garden Festival! Tember’s Channel: https://youtube.com/@thetemlife?si=VimYOxN7ZiGB47uI In today's video, we head to EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival for the first video of the season and wanted to try some food and give our review of it. However, the weather had way different plans as it stormed and rained on us. We ended up getting our shoes soaked and heard some very loud thunder but that didn’t stop us from going around the world! We ended up finding several food items that were great while others were so so. In France, the goat cheese herb croissant was great! We would get it again. In Canada, the scallops were so so but the beef tenderloin was great and we would get that again. The dessert of the whiskey cake was good but very sweet so there would be some days we would get it and some days we wouldn’t. Yacht Grub had a trio dip that was good and we could see us getting it again. The charcuterie board was okay but we probably wouldn’t get it again. They were giving out some free popsicles which was awesome but it sure wasn’t hot out. After we ate the food, we hurried to the rest of the food booths then to the car, just in time for another rain storm. It was crazy weather and it got real cold on us fast! We had forgotten about McAlister’s Deli and it had been a long time since we have been here and done a review. We decided to go back to do an update and get a Reuben as it was Alex’s grandma’s favorite. We went to the Clermont location. The staff was nice and it was a clean spot. We show you the entire menu and also sign up for the rewards, which we already got a reward. As far as food, we show you the giant spud and a house salad. We also show you the Reuben sandwich with Mac and cheese and also a giant chocolate chip cookie. They are also known for their famous tea which we got and also lemonade. We had some snacks we haven’t tried from when we went to Teso Life in Orlando. These snacks consisted of Watermelon Stuffed Toast and two types of Oreos flavored peach and cheese. These are very weird but since we are in the mood for spring cleaning and we found these, we wanted to try them on camera. Spoiler alert, none of them were good! They were gross and zero percent nutritious. Oh well, at least we can clean them out! Next we show you an update on the house remodel. We show you the current room that is used as the dining room and what our new plans are. We have started painting and filling in where the cracks are in the wood. This restaurant is located just outside of downtown Mount Dora in a shopping center. The inside is really nice and they have a nice bar. They offer a little bit of everything including sushi, fusion, hibachi, rice, and the menu is massive! We decided to try a few things but we definitely started out with the krab rangoon and it is very delicious! So is the sweet and sour sauce. For entrees, we show the pineapple fried rice which is an excellent deal. The portion size is massive, you can easily share it, and it is so good! We added miso soup to that one. Now for one of the best best deals around: the hibachi. We got the chicken hibachi and that comes with clear soup, a salad, noodles, fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and vegetables all for only $18!!! And this portion size is one of the biggest. You can easily share this with two people. We had a ton of leftovers from all the food. It is also very tasty and good food. For dessert, we tried the green tea tiramisu and the flavor was fine but it was still frozen so that was a bummer. On the way out, don’t forget one of their delicious candies!!! The staff was friendly and they all help each other out so that is good. Overall, this place was great and it is kind of a hidden gem Japanese fusion restaurant but worth checking out! This pizza spot is a hidden gem! It showed it had good reviews and people were saying how nice the staff was and how good the pizza was. It also looked really clean and nice on the inside. We decided to give it a try. Inside is very well kept. It was nice! You do order at the counter but they give you some menus you look at before so you don’t feel pressured. We decided on a small cheese pizza and a small Margherita pizza with no sauce. Wow!! They were so very good! The Margherita pizza really was one of the better ones! We loved how thin the crust was and how crunchy it was. Very delicious pizza! We ordered the tiramisu and it was up there with a top tiramisu. We gave it a stinkin’ good! The tap water was the least favorite thing but overall we thought this was a great hidden gem pizza joint in Apopka! It’s that time in Florida to start planting a garden, and recently, we have made new raised garden beds out of brick. We have three done so far but we plan on adding at least one more, if not two more. We had to run to Lowe’s to buy some soil and herbs so on the way we stop at Five Guys and enjoy their special BOGO on burgers to celebrate their 40 years! It was packed but the burgers were so good and they give you so many fries! At Lowe’s, we found some organic soil on sale and we found some organic seeds that we planted. We will see what happens as they grow! So far we like our garden beds and hopefully this year we will have a great harvest. Stay tuned for our Florida garden for this year and season of harvest!
