I met an American woman on a beach in Bali — she left the US eight years ago and has been calling Bali home for the past four years. * Originally planned a world tour across Asia, but Japan closed during COVID — she chose Bali instead, fell in love, and never left * Works as an environmental consultant — running non-profit projects in sustainability education, recycling, organic composting, and helping make schools greener * Favourite spots: Pemuteran (northwest Bali — white sand, clear water, incredible snorkeling and scuba diving) and Amed (northeast — black sand beaches and amazing diving) * She's also a free diver and loves motorbiking across Bali and all over Indonesia * Best memory: living in a Balinese compound for a couple of years — she taught the kids English, they taught her Bahasa Bali and cooking.
